The Turin International Book Fair will take place at Lingotto Fiere from Thursday 14 to Monday 18 May. The venue is easily accessible by metro: "Lingotto" is the nearest station to the via Nizza entrance, while "Italia ‘61" is the nearest station to the entrance that is connected to FS Lingotto railway station. Both the metro stations have a lift accessible to persons with disabilities.
You can get to Lingotto Fiere by using bus route 18 (bus stop n. 912 “Lingotto)” whose service will be boosted to facilitate the visitors.
If you are arriving at Lingotto railway station, you can get to the fair on foot by passing through Oval. Lingotto railway station can also be reached by using routes 4, 18, 34 (operating on working days and Saturdays) 41, 63, 63/, 74 and interurban route n. 2014 Torino –Alba.
The metro service hours will be extended throughout the event: from 14 to 18 May, the service will be extended with the last departures from both termini at midnight on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday, and at 1:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. During the opening hours of the Fair, train frequency on the metro will be enhanced as the number of passengers rises. Both metro and routes mentioned above are accessible to persons with disabilites.
How to purchase public trasport tickets
We suggest buying your tickets (one for the outward journey and one for the return journey) ahead of time. Alternatively, in every metro station, and in both directions, a turnstile is reserved for contactless payments: it is equipped with a specific reader, which is easily identifiable by the card network logos and by the signages located on the floor and on the glass barriers of the turnstiles. The system recognizes the card as an ordinary ticket and, in metro stations, opens turnstiles. You can pay your fare, which is the same as buying a City 100 ticket (€1,90): it is valid for 100 minutes on the entire urban network, and within the validity period passengers are allowed to board connecting services.
The GTT contactless payment system allows passengers to purchase a ticket also on board all buses and trams which display the specific yellow sign.
Download ToMove app to purchase tickets through your smartphone: the app is available for free on Google Play Store and Apple store.
Within every metro station there are ticket vending machines from which, besides the “City 100”, you can purchase the Daily ticket , the Multicity 6-City-ticket electronic carnet and the new “Daily x4” ticket (valid for a group of up to 4 people travelling together).
Alternatively, you can purchase your tickets ahead of time from an authorized retailer or at the GTT Customer Service Center located at Porta Nuova.
Salone OFF: GTT Plays a Leading Role in the Events
Giardino Forbito, an association set up with the aim of regenerating urban spaces, has partnered with GTT to create and run the event "Metro di cultura". This will take place from 16 to 17 May and is included in the programme of events of the Salone Off. The initiative is aimed at promoting and facilitating sustainable mobility and disseminating cultural contents to visitors while they are travelling to the Salone Metro Line 1 and route Star 2 line will host readings, performances, and moving artistic actions, along with activities aimed at raising both cultural and environmental awareness. In addition, the Green Points — set up in the halls of Marconi, Porta Nuova, and Lingotto stations — will become an integral part of the cultural experience.
